Image #2 (NikAd2) was created on assignment from The Chronicle of Higher Education (Scott Seymour, art director) and published all the way back in April 18, 2003 edition of the journal. It accompanied the article Nature Takes Only Tiny Steps but Still Surpasses Our Reckoning by David P. Barash. The article tackled the issue of evolution’s lack of clear boundaries.
