My name is Angela Chilufya, I’am a Zambian born illustrator currently based in England. I specialise in traditional media as well as digital media and take a keen interest in portraiture. Through my work I try to focus on drawing representations for black individuals young and old. A quick search in google of "beautiful" or "art" and we are bombarded with images of white women/ people. The lack of representation of black people in the illustration industry, as I learned while at university, was the driving force behind my choice to only illustrate black people in all our glorious shades and sizes. My work is more often than not emotionally driven. I like to bring a sense of intimacy in my work by sharing my personal struggles and thoughts.
