Alan Rogerson is a freelance artist, illustrator and cartoonist from Cambridge, a small medieval city on the edge of the world. He went to Cambridge to study illustration and found the medieval life suited him so he decided to stay.
"I've always been obsessed with medieval manuscripts and early book illustrations. So I've ended up drawing a lot from the past then mixing things up with a little bit of day time television, over heard conversations, the arguments I have with myself and all the strange and surreal things I see in our confusing modern world.
This picture is a linocut print of an Elizabethan Lady. I haven't found out her name yet but she looks like she was a very nice lady. I spend a lot of time these days researching old pictures like this one online. It's amazing what's out there." - Alan Rogerson
