Milene graduated in architecture at UFRGS (Porto Alegre, Brazil) in 1998. After working as an architect for 14 years, she graduated in advanced photography at ESPM-Sul and started her career as a photographer, one of her passions.
With Her work "Caminhos de Pedra em Detalhes", she was selected with eight other colleagues from the ESPM-Sul photography course to be published in “9 Olhares (views)“, a document made by the University and was awarded with a special course, taught by professor and curator Bernardo de Souza.
In 2017, she opened her studio where she develops many of her works.
In 2021, she received an Honorable Mention by the ND Awards 2021 in the category of conceptual photography.
She currently participates in a mentoring group with visual poet Danny Bittencourt and develops his work exploring the photography narrative possibilities as the basis for developing her personal poetics, taking it from a two-dimensional place and bringing it to a sculptural field.
