My name is Maja Beattie.  I am a painter and illustrator based in Oxford.  My work resonates from a fascination with people and the human trace, showing the vibrancy and vulnerability of the human psyche.

'Steam Mountain' Mixed Media Collage (30cm x 40cm) This piece is a collage using magazines and old atlas pages. It documents my love to escape to the mountains and clear my head.

Through my portraits and collages I aim to create a modern day social commentary with layers of rich colour.

'Ulter Ego' Oil on Canvas (89cm x 59cm) This piece was created while living in Bristol, being immersed in a fantastic environment of culture and escapism. This piece is an energetic take on youth.
