This piece was created on a day where I wasn't feeling my best. I decided to step outside to get some sunlight to lift my mood. It started out depicting my exact feelings, but afterwards, I slowly started to feel better. I'm really into vibrations and positive/negative energy. I realized while making this piece, that I was trying to do just that, raise my vibration to a positive one. I didn't want to work with that negative energy, but used where I was anyway. My goal in life is to uplift, inspire, and motivate, so that is the purpose. We all possess the ability to lift ourselves up. Look within, and raise ourselves to a better place emotionally, mentally, physically.

I am an emerging artist, in the sense that I recently decided to make a living as a Full-time artist. I have been an artist all of my life, but left it sitting on the back burner of a stove, in an abandoned basement of a house, covered in blankets and a thick layer of dust!

This piece represents freedom, along with complete and absolute resolve in not caring what anyone thinks. I wanted to create something that exemplified the joy I felt when I finally began to express myself freely. I enjoy simple figure drawings and bright, bold color. Again, beautiful African Ankara print fabric was used for the wings in the original mixed media painting.

I managed to uncover again, and am rediscovering my love for art. I am a Photographer, Painter, and Sculptor residing in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

This piece was inspired by the strong women that go about their daily lives in beautiful African print fashions. I hope this piece elicits a feeling of royalty, or a sense of the regal nature that women feel when they look their best. I wanted to do something that would be more inspirational and that would last longer using authentic African wax print fabric I received from the Makola market in Accra, Ghana, (Africa). I wanted to immortalize it, instead of just having outfits made for myself.
