Born in Istanbul, Hulki Okan Tabak is an amateur photographer. He has started taking photographs with an analogue Pentax SLR borrowed from his uncle in 1980s.

The location is Cappdocia, the Anatolian heartland where civilizations have been built since prehistoric times. This photo was taken in April 2017. It is a view looking out from Uchisar which itself is full of cave houses carved in the idiosynratic local rock formation. The timing of the photo is the evening with a low yet harsh sunset. Down to the right, patches of houses remain in the photo while the majority of the scene is covered with various mountain ranges and rock formations.
