Visual artist Flávia Rodrigues Piątkiewicz

Flávia Rodrigues Piątkiewicz is a visual artist who works on a variety of media: drawing, painting, and photography. Tends to incorporate time as well as space by connecting and interweaving these areas together with moving images; short video forms, or stop motion animation – creating a fictional and experiential universe that only emerges bit by bit.

By taking daily life as subject matter, Her works are an investigation into representations of what seems to be concrete.

Her artworks feature coincidental, accidental, and unexpected connections, creating informal associations which open a unique poetic vein. Multilayered images arise in which the fragility and instability of our seemingly certain reality is questioned, inciting the viewer to make new personal associations. Rather than presenting a simple factual reality, an illusion is created to conjure the realms of our imagination.

She defends that a connection between art and science is crucial for our development, and imagination is the key.

In 2015 graduated with Rector’s distinction at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Media Art, Multimedia. In 2017 completed her Masters's Degree in the same faculty, specializing in intermedia.
