Visual artist Subhelic

I am Subhelic, a visual artist from Ormoc City, Philippines. I just recently graduated college with a a degree in Advertising and am taking a break to make art before I find work.

"Remembering" 18x18in, acrylic on canvas, 2018. To not forget in fear, but to remember with love. No revenge, no regret.

I paint about the things that my mind wanders off to, and that is usually the hurt, the sorry, the longing. I've had plenty of people say that there is a certain sadness to the things I make, and I've come to accept that sadness is a necessary part of my work. Currently, I am making things more personal.

"Sad Boys with Plants No. 3" Digital, 2017. This is a collaboration piece with artist @alvinquiel on Instagram. He knows more about plants than I do.

I've always wanted to come up with a big body of work in traditional media, and now I have begun.

"Banyuhay" Digital, 2017. A collaboration piece with Jeremiah Ablaza (@jeremiahablaza on Instagram) about transformation. Jeremiah did the photography and type which I illustrated around.
