I always had the urge to create something. Whether it was making toys from cardboard and writing poems as a kid, or later photography and amateur moviemaking as an adult. And yes, there was always some sort of sketching involved. But only with the discovery of the ethereal watercolor medium i really found something that I feel now suits me best as a way to express myself. The loose washes, lost edges, transparency and luminosity, the dream like quality so to speak, what else could serve better to a daydreamer like me.
As for my art, I paint many different subjects, using different techniques, often combining the watercolor with ink. Going back and forth between those subjects and techniques makes my painting journey still fresh and exciting, i always learn something new and this gained knowledge transfers and transforms how I paint. However, what I find the most exiting subject to paint are mysterious, imaginary landscapes, where the quality of watercolor connects the best with my visions and ideas. Those are the paintings I consider truly my own, my expression as an artist.
