From July 9 through August 31, 2021, the International Art Museum of America (IAMA) in San Francisco will present a major exhibition of works by the celebrated expressionist artist and painter Ane Howard, born in Montreal, Canada and residing in Southern California. The first museum exhibition in the U.S. of Howard's abstract expressionist mixed media and paintings on canvas, Ane Howard: California, A Love Affair. As a traditional artist I use a mixture of media. This includes ink pens, coloured pencils, oil pencils, pastel pencils and watercolour pencils. I also produce the occasional digital piece, where I replicate my traditional style. Anastasia Fedorova is an established Canadian Ukrainian oil painter. She was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she resides and works. Anastasia learned oil painting and drawing from celebrated Ukrainian painters for more than a decade before attending the Institute of Art and Design in Kiev. Barb Sherin is an entrepreneur and self-taught painter, who at a very young age, was bit by the fashion bug. Her interest in designing had her juggling both senior year in High School and training at The French Fashion Academy in New York City. She attended Parsons School of Design and was shortly introduced to the music industry. At the same time, she pursued her passion for painting. As a painter Victor works primarily with acrylic on board. He displays a mastery of line and color through purposeful brushwork and a palette dominated by rich earth tones thickly applied to the canvas. The physicality of his work is enhanced with accents of ink and, intermittently, the addition of industrial materials such as varnish and plaster. Artist’s statement Art, especially painting, is a part of my being, and as much needed for my well-being as food! I enjoy working in multi mediums and being able to explore my feelings about the abstract and figurative by making a statement in any way or mixture that best suits the subject. The main bulk of my work possibly relating to impressionism, light, mood, atmosphere, the moment, materials, texture, image, dimensions. Being a natural teacher, film making and photography have enabled me to share these experiences, here and abroad, to a huge audience. I have been fortunate to have not only lived abroad, 8 years in France, but also visit and been a resident artist in the USA, Quebec, New Zealand, Cuba, Barbados, Norway, Hebrides, Ireland, to mention a few, plus stately homes and venues in the U.K.

Contemporary art with an old soul flows out of Yidan’s journey of many thousands of miles from her birthplace in China to her Idaho home. That passage, with its universal instincts for survival, search for happiness, and fulfillment of dreams, has grabbed and compelled Yidan’s soul. It continues to inspire her work in which she sets humans and creatures of nature in settings that reveal their inner story to the person who pauses to participate by reading a story in the painting.

I am an illustrator from London who graduated with a degree in BA Illustration from the University of Brighton in the UK. Influenced by the whimsical works of Dr. Seuss and the cartoons I watched growing up, I enjoy creating characters and stories that enchant and bring laughter. Rong Pham began his professional career in his early 20s by illustrating picture books and cover arts for many local publishers.
